Come Party with a Purpose

Nyame Bekyere literally translates to 'God will provide.' It is in the Akuapem North section of the Akuapem district in the Eastern region of Ghana, just 10 minutes from Koforidua – the administrative Capital of the Eastern Region.

Diallo Sumbry, co-architect of Ghana’s Year of Return, the first African American Tourism Ambassador and Nkosuohene, Chief of Development, of Nyame Bekyere, are providing the land for the building of a residential Arts and Entrepreneurial Institute.

The land sits on 1.5 acres and is adjacent to the Nyame Bekyere Basic School - the primary school serving students K – 8th grade and a community center built by Diallo Sumbry, encompassing a library, multipurpose room, and rooftop deck.

In celebrating my 50th Birthday in Ghana, I’m inviting some of my celebrity friends to perform to raise funds to build the institute. During the trip, we will cut the ribbon and launch the opening of the community center and we will also have the groundbreaking for the new Arts and Entrepreneurial Institute.

The concert will take place on August 30th, 2024, at Ghana’s famed Black Star Square.

The project is supported and backed by Ghana’s Tourism Authority, Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President, The African American Association of Ghana, and more.
